Jolanda van der Velden
Prof. Dr. van der Velden is co-coordinator of the Double Dose Research Consortium focusing on congenital and genetic heart diseases since 2014. The studies within this consortium, among other parts, are focused on the metabolic stress in the heart muscle.
She leads the Department of Physiology at Amsterdam UMC and is Director of the Amsterdam Cardiovascular Sciences Institute. Her own research focuses on cell dysfunction in hereditary heart muscle diseases trying to identify the abnormal mechanisms for which she wants to develop new medications.
