Patient Representative
Max Groenhart
Max went into nursing in 1976. After graduating as a Nurse, he started working on the ambulance. After that, he has always continued in Emergency Care such as Heart Monitoring, Intensive Care and Ambulance. In 2012, he suffered a heart attack which eventually left him with an ischemic cardiomyopathy as main problem.
He is involved in patient participation in all areas: for example, teaching medical students, participating in steering committees of Research Studies and reviewing patient information. In the meantime, he has build up a great deal of experience in Healthcare, both as a professional and as a patient. His main drive is to increase the knowledge and involvement of patients in order to really be able to decide together about their own health condition and future, but also to be involved in Care in general, in order to bring the voice of the patient louder.
